Tikka Masala Grilled Cheese with Spiced Shallots

Our Tikka Masala Grilled Cheese with Spiced Shallots features gooey cheese melted between slices of brioche, layered with Custom Culinary® Tikka Masala Sauce and garam masala-spiced caramelized shallots. Elevate your menu with this flavorful, Indian-inspired grilled cheese.


What You'll Need

Recipe Ingredients
  Tikka Masala-Spiced Shallots
1 T. Oil, avocado
8 c. Shallots, julienned, (1/4” thickness)
1 T. Garam Masala spice blend
½ c. True Foundations® Tikka Masala Sauce
   
  Grilled Cheese
2 t. Butter, whole, unsalted, softened
2 ea. Bread, brioche, (Pierre Brand)
2 ea. Cheese, Muenster, (sliced, 17 g ea.)
¼ c. Tikka Masala Caramelized Shallot Marmalade
PREPARATION

Tikka Masala-Spiced Shallots
  1. Add oil in a preheated large sauté pan or medium sized rondo.
  2. Add shallots and caramelize for 40-45 minutes over medium high heat stirring often.
  3. Once the shallots are deeply golden brown add garam masala spice and the tikka masala sauce cooking for another 5-10 minutes over medium low heat until the sauce reduces some and evenly coats the caramelized shallots.
  4. Use immediately or cool down and add to a covered storage container for 5-7 days.

Grilled Cheese
  1. Top a slice of brioche bread with Muenster cheese.
  2. Spoon 2 oz of the Tikka Masala caramelized shallots onto the top of the cheese.
  3. Add another slice of cheese and top with another slice of bread.
  4. Butter both sides and toast sandwiches on a hot flat-top griddle until the bread is golden brown, the cheese is melty, and the onion mixture is warm.
  5. Cut sandwiches corner to corner and serve one half sandwich per cup of soup.
  6. For service, make in batches and keep warm on hot line or in hot box.
