Birria Brisket Lettuce Wraps

Tender, smoky birria-style brisket layered in crisp green leaf lettuce cups and topped with red onion, bell peppers, and fresh cilantro. Served with a rich birria broth for dipping.

A unique recipe that is both flavorful and easy to prepare uses our Beef Birria broth to enhance the cool lettuce, adding richness to the flavor of smoked beef brisket.

6 oz. Brisket, whole, smoked, sliced, 1/2"
Smithfield® Smoke'NFast
12 ea. Lettuce, green leaf, 2"x2" cups
4 oz. Onion, red, julienned, 1/4"
4 oz. Pepper, bell, yellow. Julienned, 1/4" 
2 oz. Pepper, jalapeno, sliced, 1/4" (optional)
1/2 c, Cilantro, leaves (garnish)
12 oz. True Foundations® Birria Broth (hot)
PREPARATION

  1. In a medium sauté pan over medium-low flame, heat the brisket until it is 160° F.
  2. Meat can also be warmed in the oven as well.
  3. While the meat is heating place a lettuce leaf on the plate.
  4. Once the meat is warm, place 1/2 oz. of meat onto each lettuce leaf, topping with onion, peppers, jalapenos, and cilantro.
  5. Ladle an ounce of hot birria broth and place on the side of the lettuce wrap.
